Great for the Professional Web Developer or Avid Blogger

// District Staff Development Coordinator at Ramapo Indian Hills High School District

What do you like about WordPress?

Wordpress offers some pretty useful features. The templates that they give offer choices for portfolios, blogs, and websites, and the final products have a very professional feel. I love being to create a blog and have the blog posts easily post to the site or multiple. The analytics on the backend are powerful and give you a lot of information regarding your site, especially where people are accessing from, how often, what pages, etc. Wordpress also allows for embedded video content from Youtube and a few other tools.

What do you dislike about WordPress?

There is definitely a learning curve with Wordpress. There is no drag and drop feature like Wix or Weebly. I also think some features that are included on other website programs or paid features with wordpress. Other than that, this has been my go-to for website design.

What have you been using it for and what problems did WordPress solve?

I use Wordpress as the host for a professional blog I run. I also use it for my school districts technology page. For educators, this is a great place to create and share your site with your district/school and give people access to co-moderate. I have also shared with students and had them use Wordpress to run their own personal blogs throughout the year.

Wordpress is the best for website design today

// Graphic Designer at Anthony Garcia

What do you like about WordPress?

I started in design before the internet, so after a while, all the work seemed to be web based...so I had to learn HTML. But I am not a coder. Not by a longshot. Then when responsive design came along I was excited, but I wasn't going to learn how to code that! So I made the jump to WordPress 100%, and it has been great ever since. The way the community around WordPress has developed so many tools and support for the platform it has turned into a way to make anything you can imagine without hardly touching any code at all. It's great!

What do you dislike about WordPress?

The worst thing about WordPress is a side effect of the best things about it — there is almost too much stuff. When you need a plugin to add functionality it can get overwhelming trying to pick the best one. There will most likely be dozens to choose from. They do a good job of showing the ratings and support, but it is still a lot like shopping. You have to do your homework, and sometimes you have to test one out and switch because it didn't fit the bill.

What have you been using it for and what problems did WordPress solve?

I use WordPress for all of my website design projects, both in support of my own personal creative endeavors, as well as for clients. I may expand into Wix and Squarespace just because they are simple to use and popular, but my go-to choice is going to remain WordPress for as long as I can see into the future.

// Technical Support Engineer at Tableau Software

What do you like about WordPress?

WordPress is very simple and has a very clear UI. If you want to create a small website, an online store or just a blog, you should try WordPress. Also, WordPress has a huge community if you need a help.

What do you dislike about WordPress?

As for me. this service is one of the best. I tried a lot of options and still returned to Wordpress. It almost works perfectly, but sometimes there are failures with automatic updates. Be sure to back up your site, and update yourself manually.

What have you been using it for and what problems did WordPress solve?

For a site of services or a blog, it is better not to find. For blogging WordPress is the ideal solution.

Worlpress is the most common option for a personal blog or a small website

// Support at Strollers and Stilettos®

What do you like about WordPress?

If you look, it's not a bad site builder. Great customization capabilities. A huge number of plugins at the same time, plus and minus. The free option is very poor. If you decide to stop your choice on Wordpress immediately think about buying the full version.

What do you dislike about WordPress?

Quite expensive built-in themes. It happens that the theme really liked, but its layout is very bad and you have to change the whole theme. The interface is not very friendly, sometimes it takes a long time to look how to change something on the site. A huge number of plug-ins, some of them just duplicate each other's work.

What have you been using it for and what problems did WordPress solve?

We needed WordPress to create a business card site for my company. At that time, WordPress had enough scope for us. Now we have a more advanced site on our hosting.
